The Compton P-ESL program begins with a personal analysis of the client's speech. This analysis
reveals exactly how their pronunciation differs from standard American English and identifies specific
areas for concentration. Using the analysis results, the certified P-ESL instructor creates a unique
customized course designed around the speech patterns revealed by the client.
During weekly training sessions a speech professional certified in using the Compton P-ESL method
teaches the client appropriate speech reduction / modification techniques, as well as the basic sounds
and principles of spoken American English. The client learns to discriminate between different speech
sounds, with special emphasis placed on:
- Pronunciation
- Complete Word Production
- Voice Projection
The client will also apply these strategies throughout the course during conversational speech and
presentation exercises.
